What is Car Insurance?

Vehicle insurance covers you (depending on your level of cover) against things like accidental loss, damage, fire or theft of your vehicle. You can even be covered for things like damage you accidentally cause to another person’s vehicle. There are 5 different levels of cover.

How can I buy a Maintenance Plan?

You have the following options to pay for a Maintenance Plan:

  • Monthly (over a 4-month term only, buy this option via our call-centre)

  • Upfront payment (added to your finance agreement

  • Once-off EFT payment

You can purchase a Maintenance Plan through approved dealerships (upfront only) or via our national call-centre.

What does a Maintenance Plan provide for?

A Maintenance Plan provides for the services specified by your car manufacturer as well as wear-and-tear items, below is a list of some of the items provided for:

  • Brake pads

  • Clutch

  • Front and rear shock absorbers

  • Starter motor

  • Turbo assembly

  • Air-conditioner (compressor only, re-gassing only on replacement)

  • Cambelt*

  • Accessory Belt*

* We will pay for the replacement of a cambelt or accessory belt only if it is specified by your car manufacturer at a specified service interval.

What is a Maintenance Plan?

A Maintenance Plan provides for everything that is in included in the Service Plan plus the replacement or repair of specific wear-and-tear parts like brake pads. You must have the service; replacement or repairs, performed by an approved dealer. You must also have it performed at a specific period of time or specific distance travelled – whichever happens first.

How do I know if I can get a Maintenance Plan?

Your car may qualify for a Maintenance Plan if, at the time you want to take a Maintenance Plan, your car:

  • Has travelled less than 80 000 km

  • Is less than 4 years old (calculated from the date of first registration)

  • Has a full car manufacturer’s service history as per the required intervals and specifications – done by your car manufacturer’s approved service centre

What does a Maintenance Plan pay for?

A Maintenance Plan provides for all Service Plan items, as per the specified car manufacturer service schedule, and the cost of repair or replacement of specific wear-and-tear items.

What do I need to do to keep my plan intact?

Just make sure you take your car for its specified services according to your manufacturer’s specified intervals.

Are cambelts included in a Maintenance Plan?

Yes. A cambelt and cambelt accessories are replaced if the manufacturer recommends this at your specific service intervals that is provided for by a Maintenance Plan.
